Dmitry Kedrin never stops in his artistic search. He is not afraid to follow the beaten paths and turn to the "hackneyed" themes of urban landscapes, but in these wanderings he always finds only his own style, since he cannot be an imitator in anything. These are not traditional plots and not documentary fixation of architectural monuments. Kedrin's paintings are akin to dreams, where the outlines blur and vibrate, shine, as if we are looking at the city through a veil - either rain or time. These are original color-compositional improvisations on architectural motifs, once again reminiscent of the relationship between fine arts and music. Looking at any of the city landscapes of Kedrin, we also “hear” it. Layering sensations of the world on reality, amazing in power and color, like music, lead through the labyrinths of trees and houses, city lamps and roads to the moments of our life - pauses in everyday life to understand ourselves. Dmitry's works are eccentric and expressive, and abound in rich, thick strokes of various shades. Color, light and energy are perhaps the most important characteristics of his paintings. It is not clear where the plein air ends and the world of spontaneous ideas begins. The images of beloved women and cities have a resemblance to the original and convey the emotions of the author himself, who very emotionally conveys what he saw, sometimes reaching an abstract image.
