Danila Surovtsev

Danila Surovtsev was born in 1977 in Moscow. He graduated from the Moscow Secondary Art School named after N.V. Tomsky in 1995. Since 1995 he has participated in foreign, Russian and Moscow exhibitions. From 1995 to 2001, he studied at the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov (M.V. Pereyaslavets was the Head of the workshop). Between 2002 and 2005, he attended creative workshops at the Russian Academy of Arts (V.E. Tsigal was the artistic director).

He has been a member of the Moscow Union of Artists since 2001. He was awarded a medal of the Russian Academy of Arts and a Presidential scholarship.

He is the author of the monument to the Russian cruiser Varyag, erected on September 8, 2007 in Scotland in the city of Eyre. He has created a gallery of images of the Russian Navy’s admirals (10 portraits) for the headquarters of the Russian Navy (Moscow, B. Kozlovsky lane).

He is a co-author with the People's Artist V.A. Surovtsev of many monuments and memorials in Russia, Bulgaria, South Korea, France, and Germany.
