Denis Matsievsky

Philosophical and heritage references are important in Denis Matsievsky's artworks. The early Christian aesthetics is intertwined with the Renaissance images. Allegorical pictorial language reaches out to eternal questions. Having started creative career with the complex etching technique, Denis Matsievsky holds interest in formal experiments - he uses polyhedra in the composition. The complex pattern of his works harmonizes with features of different eras and styles, three-dimensional optical illusions, and the subjects from different centuries create an exquisite postmodern universe.

Denis Matsievsky was born in 1977. In 2000, he graduated from Moscow State Academy of Industrial Art named after S.G. Stroganov, and joined the Moscow Union of Artists and the Moscow Union of Designers. Denis is a winner of many competitions. In 2009, he was awarded the medal "for merit in the development of fine arts" from the Moscow Union of Artists. Denis Matsievsky is a participant of numerous exhibitions, and his works are reposited in collections of the State Central Museum of Russian History, the Museum of Moscow, Pushkin State Museum, and in private collections in Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Italy.
